TGIM Digital Publishing is happy to welcome the newest member of our team, Renée Walker! Renée joins the TGIM Digital Publishing family as our Publisher. She brings to TGIM, a thorough understanding of technology, writing and editing. Her day-to-day responsibilities include liaising with our writers and book lovers, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with large retailers (such as Target, Wal-Mart, Amazon). Renée has already began the on boarding process to begin editorial work for titles currently in production. On average, her position is roughly 40% working with publishers/retailers, 35% marketing, and 25% editorial and client care (though that will vary throughout the year as demands change).
Renée has written and directed more than 10 stage plays. She recognizes the talent in young people and allowed them to showcase their talents in her first stage play, “Somebody Stole Christmas.” She is currently writing a novel based on her favorite series of plays, “A Blessing in a Storm”, “The Gift” and “Save by Grace.”
She received a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from Full Sail University in 2016. Ms. Walker received an outstanding writer award from the local chapter of the NAACP in 2013. While participating in the Jubilee Theatre Festival “From the Page to the Stage,” her play ranked third in 2012. Ms. Walker was also an honoree at the African-American Honors Banquet in 2012. Not only is she an inspirational playwright; she also has a passion for technology and editing. Walker is a 20-year veteran in technology and customer service.
Renée stepped comfortably into her new position as publisher, and immediately contributed innovative ideas to help market, promote, and publish our authors in new and innovative ways, particularly given the changing digital landscape. She’s a big thinker who is also able to execute and keep an eye on the details. As her predecessor, I personally love this about her and it is a tremendous asset as a new member of our TGIM family.
Stepping down as publisher has given me the time and freedom I need as CEO and Program Developer of Writing for the Soul Workshop™ to fully engage and follow through on the duties required as such. As CEO of TGIM Digital Publishing, I put an emphasis on self-sufficient, forward-looking, entrepreneurial employees, who can work on their own without much supervision while also working seamlessly as a group. Our culture is collaborative, relaxed, yet professional.
This is an exciting time for us, as we work to expand our staff, and support our growing global customer base. Recently, we filled the position of Community Coordinator in TGIM Africa. We are currently looking to fill positions for a Business Development Manager, and Community Coordinators here in the US and Australia. TGIM is a mobile brand, so you can set your own hours, and can work from the comfort of home. These positions are perfect for college students, and stay-at-home care givers.
Renée was seeking something no amount of money, or milestone was able to fill. She found it here at TGIM. Is that you too? Then do something different …do something amazing.
