The Time I Stole by RayShon Kelly
One day I heard my mom say, “We are moving.” I didn’t want to leave my friends, but I had no choice. So, we moved to the projects and I met new friends. So, I was walking with them not thinking, we walked to the store. They went in and came out running. I followed them. They went to some apartments, knocked on somebody’s door, but nobody opened the door. Then they started talking about stealing. I started to walk away, but they tried to jump me. So, I stayed with them. They kicked the door wide open and ran in. I went in and started taking stuff. We ran to the park and hid the stuff we took. Then they went back, but this time I stayed outside at the park. We took lots of shoes and games. Then some of the people I was with stayed around and some left. Then we started running and jumping gates. Then we made it back. I was hoping that they didn’t get caught.
My friend said, “All you need to worry about is if they going to tell on you.” Finally, I’m in the house and my friends made it save and never brought it up again.
Even though I didn’t get caught, this was a mistake I made. I watched somebody I know actually get caught. It was my dad’s girlfriend. She got caught. So, I can learn from it because she was away from her kids. So, I’m going to learn from watching her because I don’t want to be away from my mom.
