TGIM Voices: Stepfun Jones

The Future For Me by Stepfun Jones

My future is going to be good;

talk down on me I wish of person would.

I want to be an NFL player -a big dream;

but I really don’t want to leave.

I have a story that can blow your mind;

put me in a bad mood, and I’ll bring out the nine.

I’m not a bad kid;

I’m a good kid.

I make A’s and B’s;

and sometimes C’s.

When someone die;

the family cry.

For me I just blow a blunt;

I don’t understand why people stunt.

They say they love me but they don’t.

I just want to good future for me;

I ask God to help me.

There was a phone call I heard;

there was a phone call for college recruiting.

Boom, my chance to complete my dream;

at the same time I can’t put down the lean,

and my Glock want me to come back with him in the beam.

Once again my dream and future we’re leaving.

The school has been serving the needs of FWISD students and collaborating with their communities since the Fall of 1979.  The challenges that Stepfun was facing why he is currently attending  the school. Stepfun not only shared his poem, but talked to us about those challenges. They include lack of resources to get what’s on the inside …out, and to earn money to become more self-reliant.
